Well, after the angst that was the close of the transfer window with nary a goalkeeper to replace the ones that have lost our confidence in sight, what do we have for entertainment today? Not much, to be frank. Of course, yesterday was the deadline for submission of the squad list for the Premier League season ahead. There were no surprises to be had, as there were no surprises across any of the other Premier League clubs around the country. It's quite amusing to see the reaction of sections of the media, "The Nation's Favourite Paper", or whatever they call themselves now, reckon Arsenal have turned the squad list scenario into a "farse", do you see what they did there? Clever wasn't it?

The transfer window shut yesterday evening and, if you believe those of us that take up the Arsenal corner of the blogosphere, the failure of Arsenal Football Club to find a goalkeeper to replace Manuel Almunia is likely to have dealt Arsenal's title challenge a fatal blow with another thirty five games to go. Some of you have been reading me long enough to know that I don't believe we can win the title without a better goalkeeper than Almunia, but that belief wouldn't entitle me to throw my toys out of the metaphorical pram and demand Arsene Wenger's head delievered on a silver platter to my laptop by the time I've finished banging out these 1000ish words. Though I suspect Mr Brus may be doing exactly that right now.

Allied to fears that Robin van Persie may be out for the season following his latest ankle mishap and that Laurent Koscielny is actually a boy band reject masquerading as a centre back, I think you'll all agree it's worrying times for the Gooners so far this season.
Yesterday was a big, big test at Ewood Park, one that had understandably had me nervous pre-match. It was also a test that we have thankfully come through with flying colours. That, despite a first half, in which, a deflected Abou Diaby effort off the line and a thumping finish by the in-form Theo Walcott apart, produced very little in terms of creation and threatened plenty in terms of souring our moods.
